The leaves are turning red once more . The lazy dog days of summer is coming to an end.
Our new concert hall is underway and on track. In Nashville Tennessee they have a new concert hall called the Schermerhorn . It's Neo Classic architecture is very imposing.The second picture is a 3D sketch of our concert hall. This design is that of the shoe box. It's a 60's design incorporating concrete walls coper roof and glass windows.

This picture is our museum of fine arts. Neo Classic . If you go to wikipedia you will find the article about the famous hoaks in 1972.

"On September 4, 1972, the museum was the site of the largest art theft in Canadian history, when armed thieves made off with jewellery, figurines and 18 paintings worth a total of $2 million at the time, including works by Delacroix, Gainsborough and a rare Rembrandt landscape. The works have never been recovered. In 2003, the Globe and Mail estimated that the Rembrandt alone would be worth $20 million"

One of two old theaters has been purchased for renovations, The Rialto which still has original movie equipment including Altec A-5.

MONTREAL - Businessman Ezio Carosielli has purchased the Rialto Theatre on Park Ave. for $2.1 million. He and his wife, Luisa Sassano, plan to restore the heritage building and turn it into a hub of dance activity.
“The Rialto is a beautiful building,” Carosielli said. “We want to restore it, protect it and use it.”
Carosielli and Sassano also own Groupe Merveilles - a network of 10 daycares.
The Rialto’s first event, under the new ownership, is a workshop for pre-professional dancers with former So You Think You Can Dance U.S. choreographer and judge Mia Michaels on April 22.
The event is organized by Extravadanza Productions, a dance studio and dance-events organizer owned and operated by Sassano with the help of daughter Cara.
Carosielli and Sassano, both lawyers, are familiar with the dance-studio scene and the competitive dance circuit.
Cara and sister Andria have been dancing since they were preschoolers and travel the competitive-dance circuit with the 20-member Extravadanza dance team.
Carosielli has always loved old, beautiful buildings, and Sassano was looking for a way to expand Extravadanza’s reach.
“So we’re killing two birds with one stone,” Sassano said.
The theatre was built in 1924 and is considered to be an outstanding example of the Beaux Arts style. In 1945 the familiar marquee was added.
Carosielli will consult with architects recommended by the heritage ministry before deciding whether to restore the theatre to its 1924 or 1945 glory.
“I take the No. 80 bus along Park Ave. all the time and the Rialto marquee is a great part of the Park Ave. scene,” Heritage Montreal policy director Dinu Bumbaru said.
Bumbaru said the Rialto is one of only a few sites that has been given the heritage designation by all three levels of government.
“And the (1945) marquee was part of that designation,” he said.
The 40,000-square-foot building houses the 1,350-seat theatre, which still has a functioning film projector from its movie theatre days, and is home to a jewellery store, a restaurant and, on the second and third floors, the avant-garde dance troupe La La La Human Steps.
Carosielli said all the tenants will be staying put.
The theatre is a shadow of its former self, and Carosielli knows the restoration will cost a bundle.
“I imagine I will spend the same amount to restore it as I did to buy it,” he said.
“This isn’t a money-making venture for me. If I break even down the road, I will be happy.”

The latest news about this city are bad. The busiest bridge in Canada is slated for demolition .Theres a sign that says to say a prayer before you cross it . Then the interchange highway leading to it is collapsing. What I have a hard time understanding is why 15 years to replace it all. while it took only 5 years to build it in the first place.
